To eating in prague there is no problem in finding restaurants that they offer you good food and, also, to more than reasonable prices.

There is a huge diversity where you can enjoy both international food and, above all, typical czech food, which for me is, without a doubt, the most advisable.

In this article, I've prepared a list of restaurants with various price points so you can choose based on your budget, something I would have really appreciated knowing the first time I visited the country.

What are the lunch and dinner times in Prague?

As for schedules, compared to the “inconvenience” that Spaniards who travel to other European countries usually have to adapt to eating earlier than usual, around 12 or 13 p.m., In Prague, restaurants are open all day.

This So, if you want to eat, for example, at 15 p.m., you won't have a problem. What's more, you will find the restaurant almost empty.

And if your visits lead you to delay mealtime, for example, until 16 p.m. or a little later, you may even coincide with people who come to “dinner.”

Of course, for dinner the appropriate time would be around 20 or 20:30 p.m.; You should never go later than 21 p.m., as it is common that after 21:30 p.m. the kitchen is already closed and they only serve you coffee.

In summer the restaurants and cafes of the old town square They have great entertainment until midnight. Be careful! Outside the tourist area, all establishments close earlier.

But apart from that, getting to dinner at 22pm in a village or small town in the Czech Republic is an impossible task. At that time it can even be difficult to find a place where you can get a beer.

Recommended restaurants to eat in Prague

Obviously, we can't know every restaurant in the city, but we do know which ones we liked the most out of all the ones we've tried over the years, and we recommend them.

Here we leave you some Prague restaurants that we liked so much that we would return and in fact we return when we return to the city.

U Fleku Restaurant, one of the most emblematic

Typical dish to eat in Prague
Typical dish to eat in Prague

Without a doubt this is a emblematic restaurant of the city and one of the oldest breweries in Prague.

Visually, it had quite an impact on us because the experience of eating in what looks like a medieval castle with several beautifully decorated rooms and a large outdoor garden terrace is incredible.

U Fleku It is a place that is usually in high demand, where it is very interesting to try some of the typical Czech dishes such as Speck Dumplings, bread dunoling (10 euros).

Furthermore, there is usually live traditional music between mugs of beer for everyone.

It is not the place where we ate best in Prague if we speak strictly about gastronomy, since to some extent it is oriented towards tourism, but if you will have a authentic medieval czech food experience.

Vytopna Railway I think it's a very interesting and entertaining place to eat something, or simply have a few beers next to the National Museum of Prague.

Pork´s It is undoubtedly one of the most visited restaurants in Prague. Due to its location next to the Charles Bridge on the side of Little Country, for its food and its decoration.

Particularly it is the place where I have eaten The best knuckle I've ever had in Prague. Of course, you have to keep in mind that the portion is quite large, so it is ideal to share it.

I also found it very curious and recommendable the beer ice cream, a very curious combination that you have to try if you visit this place.

It is usually very crowded, so I recommend you go early or make a reservation, because if not, you will have to wait.

The advantage it has in our opinion is that it is next to the Charles Bridge and the prices, for Prague, are very reasonable.

U Pivrnce, a good option to eat near the Jewish Quarter

Also next to Charles Bridge in the direction of Jewish quarter is U Pivrnce, a restaurant with very long hours and very striking decoration on all the walls of the premises.

If you are looking for something else elegant and sophisticated with an exceptional decoration, the Municipal House restaurant It is the place you are looking for.

Another of those sophisticated places with a lot of style to eat in Prague or just have a drink is the Imperial Coffee.

Here you can have a coffee, a snack, or even lunch and dinner in a beautiful space.

A very careful decoration that surprised us a lot, and a place that I recommend you visit even if it is just to see how amazing it is.

As a curiosity, years ago it was allowed to throw fritters between customers for an extra fee, a tradition that we asked about, but which has now disappeared.

Mlynec, next to the Prague Bridge

Mlynec Restaurant in Prague
Mlynec Restaurant in Prague

Together with Charles Bridge On the river is one of the restaurants where I've had the most pleasure eating. I thought the place was beautiful, and especially its location.

El Mlynec restaurant It is one of my latest discoveries that definitely deserves to be on this list.

The food is very good, and I especially enjoyed the duck, which was incredible. It's an elaborate meal and it's not cheap, but you'll leave having thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Approximate Price per Person: 20-30 Euros

Restaurant 420 and its views of the astronomical clock

I thought this restaurant was amazing, how beautiful and elegant it is, and it is also right in the center, right in front of the Prague Astronomical Clock.

We discovered it on our last visit, and in addition to eating well with very elegant dishes, there was a final surprise.

On the second floor, there's a renovated room with incredible, elevated views of the clock. It's not always open, but they'll show it to you if you ask.

As for the food, I found the dishes to be very elaborate and the food very good. It's not cheap, though, which is understandable considering the historic building it's in, as well as its unique location.

Jazz Boat

A site I like to recommend is Jazz Boat.

River views from the Jazz Boat restaurant in Prague
River views from the Jazz Boat restaurant in Prague

As the name suggests, it's a restaurant on a boat with live music. It's a place to go for dinner and watch the sunset while taking a walk along the river.

It seemed like a fantasy dinner to me to see Prague from a boat while having dinner.

I'd also like to point out that the boat isn't very big, and the live music might be a bit overwhelming. To avoid that, we booked dinner upstairs, as the music is inside.

A perfect option for a summer night

Approximate Price per Person: 30-35 Euros

Vnitroblock, an alternative site

Vnitroblock Restaurant
Vnitroblock Restaurant

If you dare to visit the small peninsula at the northern end of the city next to the Latenska Park, I'm going to give you a recommendation.

Vnitroblock It is not just a restaurant where you can eat in Prague, it is a multidisciplinary space where you can go to eat, but also to have breakfast, have a coffee, read, or even take painting classes.

A place with a very nice industrial-style decoration that mixes sofas among plants with exposed ceilings.

A very special place, with the most alternative side of Prague, where we didn't eat, but we did see people doing so and it was a menu format, so the prices shouldn't be high.

Food Trucks from Jatka 78

In the same area, where it is located Jatka 78, a space in the style of the Matadero in Madrid, with plenty of exhibition spaces, shops and supermarkets, is my next recommendation.

I mean a small place with several Food trucks where you can eat in Prague away from the city's tourists.

There is quite a variety and, in addition, it is a place where we were able to try the Kofola on tap, an iconic drink with a lot of history from the Czech Republic, of which we have a video reel on our social networks in case you want to see it.

Vozokovna Dog BAR, the craziest place in Prague

This is probably the craziest and most extravagant recommendation for eating in the Czech Republic, as this place is not actually a restaurant, which doesn't mean you can't eat inside.

In a place to have an after dinner drink or a beer (or whatever you want) with live music, dark, surrounded by a decor that borders on psychedelia with its colored lights, where you can also get something to eat. Pizzas, basically.

Vytopna Railway Restaurant in Prague
Vytopna Railway Restaurant in Prague

It may not be an appropriate recommendation if you are just looking to eat, but it is if you want live a curious experience in Prague.

We've been there several times, and although it's not for everyone because it's focused on young people, it's a place we always return to just because of how unique it is.

Angelato, the best ice cream in Prague

Finally, if you visit Prague in the summer, it's sure to be quite hot, and we're telling you this because we've experienced it firsthand.

That's why I'm going to recommend an ice cream shop, the most famous and delicious in the city.

Angelato is located in Mala Stana and has some really good ice creams. There is usually a queue but it goes very fast and there are lots of flavours. I loved the yogurt ice cream.

Map of recommended restaurants where to eat in Prague

Here I leave you all the restaurants I told you about before where you can eat in Prague on a map, so that depending on where you are, you can choose the one that suits you best.

Restaurant prices in Prague and Czech Republic

Below I am going to give you an idea of the Prices that you will find in the Czech Republic at lunchtime (in 2025, on my last trip),

I will tell you that main dishes in good restaurants will cost you between 150 and 300 cz (6 to 12 euros), and in cheap restaurants they will cost you 100 to 200 cz (4 to 7 euros).

However, if you go to a more exclusive restaurant, such as the one in the Municipal House in Prague, the price can go up, with a main course of meat costing between 20 and 25 euros, but this is an exception.

Obviously in Prague restaurant prices are clearly more expensive, although there is a big difference between restaurants in tourist areas and those in neighborhoods of the city less frequented by tourists.

You will have the extreme on the terraces of the Old Town Square restaurants, where lunch or dinner can cost you up to 30 euros per person (not too expensive for the impressive setting...).

Special coffee and cake in the typical Louvre cafe in Prague
Special coffee and cake in the typical Louvre cafe in Prague

Of course, I will tell you that if you choose to dine inside these restaurants, it will cost you half!, although the setting is not the same...

Plus, the beer is really cheap. It is said that beer in Prague is cheaper than water, and after looking in many restaurants, we have to say that it is true, or at least it is true.

In a Prague bar or restaurant like the ones we have recommended, a pivo, that is, a 0,30 l beer costs around 25 CZK (one euro) and a half-litre mug, 49 CZK (2 euros) and 1 litre 4 euros

If you drink a special coffee in one of the traditional Prague cafes, it will cost you 3,50 euros, a capuccino, 2,50 euros, and a smoothie, 3,50 euros.

One last piece of advice: in the Prague airport, where there are not many restaurant options, the prices are totally international, in their worst version, that is, very, very expensive...

Enjoy your meal!
