It is a small town declared Heritage awarded by the Unesco which has its great center of interest in its main square, called Zacharias of Hradec.

Triangular in shape and with enormous dimensions, this main square of great beauty has its origins in the 13th century, and throughout history it suffered two major fires.

What to see in Telc

The first fire took place in 1530, after which the entire square was destroyed.

The last fire was at the end of the 19th century, which led to the reconstruction of all the facades of the houses in the square.

Therefore, the beautiful and colorful facades that you can now see during your visit are actually relatively recent.

After these reconstructions, an architectural complex of unusual beauty remained thanks to the Renaissance style of great color of all the houses, which makes the Plaza Mayor of Telc in one of the most beautiful that you can see in the Czech Republic.

When you visit you can walk through the arcaded galleries with cafes and shops that run under all the houses, which give a great atmosphere.

Next to the latter is the Castle, a castle-like residence in the Moravian Renaissance style, which can be visited.

Around the central garden of this castle there are various corridors and rooms with striking sgraffito and coffered ceilings.
