For its visitors, the Fitur tourism fair, which every beginning of the year is celebrated in Madrid, it is always an inspiring event for future trips.

El walk through Fitur It allows you to discover new destinations and, above all, corners that become the objective of a trip, whether on vacation or a getaway.

In line with the professional activity developed in Fitur, in my case I have been able to discover or delve deeper into certain destinations that are noted in the travel agenda Travel Guides for a possible trip in the coming months or years.

Below I share these suggestions.

1.- Puerto Rico

If you are a regular reader of Travel Guides, you will have verified that, except for the specific case of Southern Caribbean of Costa Rica, Central American countries still do not have an informative presence on the blog.

But in the recent Fitur I have been able to discover the attractions of one of the least known tourist attractions in Spain: Puerto Rico.

It is a country that occupies an elongated island, slightly larger than Fuerteventura, with four million inhabitants, where tropical beaches and resorts luxury, with a central mountain range with lush and jungle natural parks, and even desert areas in the south.

And in Puerto Rico There is also no shortage of cultural places, such as old San Juan, with more than 500 years of existence and its colonial atmosphere. Nor delicious cuisine, such as dulce de leche, a rice cake with coconut milk and cinnamon.

Being a State associated with the United States, the dollar is king in a country that has a higher level of development than the rest of the Caribbean countries.

But it is also the country where, in the words of García Márquez, “People drink bitterness and joy from the same cup.”.

2.- Loket Castle in the Czech Republic

At Fitur the stand of the Czech Republic was presided over by a large autumn image of a beautiful enclave to discover, the small Loket village, and on top of a hill, a Gothic castle that dates back to the 12th century.

El loket castle It is west of the Czech Republic, in the Karlovy Vary region, very close to the border with Germany. Without a doubt it is on the agenda for a future trip.

3.- La Gomera

During the past year I have had the opportunity to travel to the Canary Islands twice, specifically, to return after many years to the island of Tenerife, and visit the island of Fuerteventura.

After Fitur, a new island becomes a clear objective: La Gomera. She already knew the charm of an island that was described as a lemon squeezer with ravines that fall to the sea, during a passionate presentation in which, among others, the Canarian journalist participated Juan Cruz and the friend Paco Nadal.

La Gomera It promises us nature, forests, crystal clear waters, dolphins, whales, history, traditions and gastronomy.

But, in addition, it is the island where peace and silence prevail, where there is no traffic light, and the best place for “slow” tourism.

4.- Tower of Hercules in A Coruña

Last year I made my trip holidays in Galicia and of course I visited A Coruña, coinciding with the celebration of the concentration of tall ships.

I couldn't stop approaching the Tower of Hercules, and I signed up for the guided tour of its surroundings. But I couldn't visit the tower. The time pressure and the queue to access it prevented it.

Fitur has reaffirmed my interest in visit the Tower of Hercules, the oldest operating lighthouse in the world, with much of its structure dating back to Roman times.

5.- Munch exhibition in Oslo

Munch He is the most prestigious Norwegian painter, and The Scream It is his most famous work.

This year is dedicated to Munch's 150th anniversary, so from June to October there will be a great Munch exhibition in Oslo, the most important so far made by this artist.

On my last trip to Oslo I found the museum where it is displayed closed. The Scream. This anniversary is, without a doubt, a good pretext to visit Oslo.

6.- Romantic Germany

There are destinations that, due to various circumstances, you may not imagine the beauty they contain, both scenically and culturally.

That may be the case of Germany, a country I had planned to visit during one of my first trips to Europe, and which I finally stayed to visit.

At Fitur he has discovered one of its regions with the most attractive name: the Romantic Germany. In reality it is about the Rhineland-Palatinate region, an area with countless castles, which has been declared Heritage awarded by the Unesco.

Bookmarked for a future visit.

7.- Flanders in Belgium

The Belgian region of Flanders It was one of the places visited on my first trip through Europe, many, many years ago.

Since then, I have only returned once more to visit Ghent, and I have also been to Brussels a couple of times.

This can be a good year for again travel to belgium, and that this country acquires the leading role that corresponds to it in Travel Guides.

8.- Asturias

I have started the 2013 travel year by visiting Asturias in January. But that is not an obstacle to not returning to Asturias during the year.

The recent trip to Asturias has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of his great cultural and industrial heritage.

But this is just one of the many reasons anyone can have to travel to Asturias, apart from the well-known landscapes and gastronomy.
