Blogs and Tourism 2.0 URJC Summer Course 2013

Summer 2013 Courses at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid

 

The travel and tourism blogs are protagonists this year in the Summer Courses 2013 at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, which are celebrated from July 1 to 19 at the Royal Site of Aranjuez.

Indeed, within the framework of a broad course program of great interest, from the group of travel bloggers Travel Inspirers we have collaborated with the King Juan Carlos University Foundation in the organization of course "The new travel communication: Blogs and Tourism 2.0 in Spain", the first to take place in Spain of these characteristics.

The course dates consist of del 15 al 19 de julio, and in the same The new communication dynamics brought about by the appearance and popularization in recent years of travel blogs and social networks will be delved into.

The participating speakers will analyze the need to adapt the traditional travel journalists to the new world 2.0, in the context of the inevitable decline of printed communication, blogs and social platforms also being an opportunity for the professional development of young journalists.

For their part, professionals and companies in the world of tourism cannot remain indifferent to these changes, which is why they need to know the new communication rules to adapt and relate to the new social media.

Directed by Doris Casares, journalist and blogger 3Travel, and with my collaboration as secretary, on July 15 the course opens with the participation of Jan Martínez Ahrens, deputy director of the newspaper El País and responsible for the supplement The traveler, who will discuss the evolution of the travel journalist towards the communicator of experiences.

Next, we will have Google's vision of the future of traveling communication, with the participation of José Luis López de Ayala, director of Google Travel Spain.

The day will be completed with a round table where the importance of mobility 2.0 in travel will be analyzed by Raul Jimenez, founder of the travel social network My Cloud, and José Luis Martínez, CEO of the flight and hotel comparator Kayak.

The profile of the new journalist 2.0 will be analyzed the next day by Carlos Enrique Bayo, director of Public.es, while Enric Cardona, from the blog Travelblog will review the technology related to blogs, such as WordPress, SEO, Analytics...

The day on Tuesday, July 16, is completed with a travel photography workshop conducted by Rafael Pérez, from the blog The Traveling Photographer.

On Wednesday the 17th it's my turn and I will carry out a review of the current panorama of the travel blogosphere.

And, for its part, Teresa Villace, professor of Marketing and Communication at the Rey Juan Carlos University, will analyze the relationship between tourism companies and travel communication 2.0.

Social Networks and tourism is the presentation with the Doris Casares will open the day of Thursday, July 18. Next, Joantxo Rim, Valencia Tourism Agency, will give his view on the relationship between the tourism industry and travel blogs.

This theme will be completed in the afternoon with the round table in which they participate Luca Bocci, marketing director of the Norwegian Tourist Office, and Pau G. Solbes, from the blog Pachinko.

The last day of this summer course, corresponding to Friday, July 19, opens with a double presentation developed by two prominent entrepreneurs in the world of travel blogs, Miguel Nonay, Travelers without Limits, and Diego Pons, Traveling with Diego, who "they have broken the mold” in this new sector.

Finally, the course will close with the participation of Marcelo Risi, Press and Communication Manager of the World Tourism Organization, and Angel Martínez Bermejo, from the blog Dry Martínez, who will debate the evolution of travel journalists in the face of new social media.

In short, a summer course of interest not only for students of the respective faculties of Communication Sciences and Tourism, but also for all professionals interested in the new rules of dialogue between journalism and the tourism sector.

El registration price for the Blogs and Tourism 2.0 course It is 130 euros, and is free for people registered in Aranjuez. Students will have free bus service between Madrid and Aranjuez, round trip.

For attendance at the course, two academic credits of free choice or two ECTS credits. Likewise, they will be assigned 13 residency scholarships for registrations and requests made until June 15, which include accommodation in a shared double room and full board.
