One of the great tourist attractions that this summer 2016 has A Coruña is undoubtedly the concentration of tall ships known as Tall Ships Races, which you can see in the Galician city in the dates from August 11 to 14.
This is an event that has been held since 1956, when a first regatta of large and traditional sailing boats was held between Torbay, in the United Kingdom, and Lisbon, in Portugal.
For a time this tall ship regatta was known as the Cutty Shark, and is currently organized by the organization Sail Training International.
La Tall Ships Races has already arrived on previous occasions in the port of A Coruña, and on the last occasion, in 2012, I was able to enjoy its spectacular nature during my trip through Galicia of that summer.
La Tall Ship Races 2016 has been started in Antwerp last July 7, and then go to Lisbon from July 22 to 25, and be in Cadiz 28 31 of the July.
Finally comes to Coruña from August 11 to 14.
On the intermediate sailing days between your stay in the different cities is when the sailboat races are held.

As I was able to verify during my visit to this event in the port of A Coruña, it is a spectacular concentration of almost 50 large traditional sailing boats that during the three days of stay in the port are visited by hundreds of thousands of people.
In the edition I visited there were boats from numerous countries, including large sailboats from Ecuador, Mexico and Russia.
La Tall Ships Races It is the best excuse to take a walk through the port and enjoy the spectacular nature and color of these big sailboats, which become the focus of the photographic attention of the thousands of people who gather to see them.
Sometimes you even have to queue and wait to take the photograph with the most appropriate perspective!!
During the walk through the port of A Coruña Numerous complementary activities are also carried out, although what visitors most often request is to take photos with the crew of these boats, who are decked out in their white uniforms.
