And among the various examples of this architectural style that you can visit, there is undoubtedly one very prominent place: I am referring to the Church of San Vicente de Serrapio.

You can find this small hermitage on one of the green hills of the Aller Valley, in the region of the Central Mountain, which I visited in my last trip to Asturias.

La church of San Vicente de Serrapio has much more appeal than the artistic value of its romanesque architecture.

It is the same case that happens with the pre-Romanesque church of Santa Cristina de Lena, also in the same region, in which artistic interest is combined with the beauty of a landscape enclave, thanks to its beautiful location within a mountainous valley.

This  romanesque church It was built at the end of the 944th century, in a strategic enclave where it is thought that there was originally a Roman temple, and where in the year XNUMX it had a pre-Romanesque church as its predecessor.
