  • Hello,

Well, we were in Florence in June 2015 and rented a car with AVIS. It has been a month since we received an invoice from AVIS for communicating the name of the driver to the municipal police. The amount is 42 euros! The reason for the fine is due to the limited traffic zone. I sent them an email to give me more information about the fine and they simply replied that we must wait for the corresponding authority to notify us.

We have a question because we rented a garage for two days and they made us pay 1 euro per day to carry out the procedure of informing the town hall that we had parked the car there. I have sent an email to the garage to inform me of something else and I have not received a response. I thought I understood that paying the euro, even if we entered the ZTL area by mistake, nothing would happen. Is this correct? Could it be that the garage did not carry out the communication?

I don't know what to think and we already threw away the receipts from the garage.

Can you give me any ideas? We do not know if the fine will arrive and what amount it will be.

    Regards,

    Thank you

    Fine

  • Thank you very much for the information because I am in Milan and tomorrow we will go to visit Florence

  • Dear, do you have to inform your hotel in the center beforehand or can you do it as soon as you arrive?
    Thank you very much

  • Hello, good morning. I intend to rent a car to go to Florence. Is the entire area of Florence a blue zone? Could I not leave the car outside the center to avoid the zone charge during my stay there? What do you advise me? ?.Thank you so much

    • José Antonio, in the post you have information about all the possible options for parking in Florence. Of course, be careful not to enter limited traffic areas because you will be fined without realizing it.

If you are going to be staying in a hotel, look for one with parking included. And if you are only stopping for one day, the best alternatives are the parking in the Novella Station square (paid) and the one in Michelangelo square (free but far from the center)
