On a trip of a few days discovering new places it is always nice to meet a hotel with charm.
On my recent trip through the department of Pyrenees-Orientales, Near perpignan, I have discovered the hotel L´Ile de la Lagune, undoubtedly ideal for spending a few days on vacation in this area of the Mediterranean coast of South of France.
Being a five-star hotel, do not expect a very luxurious establishment, but rather a hotel in a charming location and with recently renovated facilities with a modern but very cozy decoration.
Belonging to the family chain of Roussill hotels, with several establishments in this area of France in the surroundings of Perpignan and a five star hotel in Marrakech, in Morocco, the name of the hotel already tells you about its peculiar location, occupying an island in a maritime lagoon in the Saint-Cyprien coast, just 15 kilometers north of the beautiful town of Collide.
The hotel was closed for a year to carry out the aforementioned renovation, and now we can enjoy rooms with a maximum level of equipment and with details that are not so common to see, such as the separation with a glass between the bedroom and the bathroom with your hot tub.
Another highlight of the hotel is its L´almandin restaurant, which not long ago had a Michelin star and that has earned prestige in the region. Now in this new stage it is a French chef, who I will tell you is a very good connoisseur of Spanish haute cuisine, who has the challenge of recovering that star.
As a novelty after the reform, the hotel L´Ile de la Lagune incorporates a thalassotherapy center, the smallest in France, according to the own words of Xavier Lormand, the owner of the hotel, which has nine cabins for health treatments.
Now, to appreciate the charm of this coastal corner of Saint-CyprienWithout a doubt, the best thing is to go up to the roof of the hotel, where the pool is located, from where you have excellent views of the beautiful surroundings of the lagoon with holiday houses and pleasure boats moored to its piers.
