Philadelphia in Pennsylvania
Philadelphia in Pennsylvania

Philadelphia It is the first city we visited in our Coast to coast trip through the United States and Canada.

After having breakfast at the hotel where we stayed in New York, around 7:30 in the morning we left for Philadelphia, taking an hour and a half to arrive.

As we approached the city, the skyline de Philadelphia He appeared majestic in front of us. Once inside the city we parked in a car park central, by the way, quite expensive.

Philadelphia It is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the sixth most populous city in the United States. United States with 1,6 million inhabitants, while the population of the metropolitan area is around 6 million.

The city now appears as a great commercial, educational and cultural center, and became the social and geographical center of the original 13 colonies of America.

But above all it is known for being the city where important events occurred that gave rise to the United States independence of the British Empire in 1776.

Likewise, after the ratification of the Constitution of the United States, the city was the temporary national capital from 1790 to 1800, while Washington DC was under construction.

In the visit to Philadelphia It is easy to recognize the staircase that the protagonist of Rocky He runs up during his workouts.

Walking through the city, we have visited several Philadelphia landmarks, such as the Liberty Bell (Liberty Bell), Independence Historical Park, Independence hall, Old City Hall and Betsy Ross House.

We have also visited the downtown of Philadelphia, walking under the big skyscrapers, an experience that we will experience in many other American cities.

We really liked the city and it seems nice to live in.

We highlight a market with a Food Court more original, without the presence of the best-known commercial brands of fast food.

It was a more market-type leisure center than we are used to in Spain, with tables and all kinds of foods and specialties, where we sat down to have a coffee.
