After our visit to Universal Studios en Los Angeles, During and road trip through the United States, We went to Santa Monica, a town on the Pacific coast belonging to greater Los Angeles.

On the route we encountered a lot of traffic, which we imagine was because it was Saturday and many people had to go to the beach areas.

Upon arriving at Santa Monica, we walked through the town but especially along the beach and its surroundings.

And, also, for its famous pier pier that extends about 300 meters into the Pacific.

The pier, which is pedestrian only, is full of attractions for all tastes: musicians, jugglers, clowns, etc... As well as bars and terraces, many people, and many fishermen.

We could also see the sign that indicated the end (or the beginning) of the historic Route 66, of which we had traveled about 2,000 kilometers.

A few days later we were able to close the circle when we saw in Chicago the sign announcing the beginning - or the end - depending on how you look at it, of this famous interstate highway.

It was a very pleasant afternoon, with a perfect temperature, walking through the famous Muscles beach, which was very lively.

There were many people enjoying the most diverse activities, from fitness or aerobics classes in the sand, to training in various sports.

There were also treadmills elevated about 40 centimeters above the ground, where people walked trying to maintain their balance, as well as baseball and football games.

We have also spent quite some time looking at something similar to a track about 70 meters long, with a metal structure where ropes were hung with rings hooked at the end, which were elevated from the ground at a height of about 2,5 meters, and where the athletes in question had to go from one side to the other swinging between the rings.

We spent almost an hour in the Muscles beach looking at the successes and failures of the participants, some quite expert, others more novice, and some cooler than an eight.

Really being able to quickly do this round trip, from ring to ring, required good physical shape and good training.

La Santa Monica beach It's huge, a real melting pot of different types of people, races and languages, with a lot of Spanish in the environment.

Great experience, although we did not bathe, since we did not even wear swimsuits.

The most emotional part of the day was that both Aurora and I had already completed the coast to coastat Asbury park in New Jersey, in the Atlantic, until Santa Monica in California, in the Pacific.

We hugged each other tightly on that dock.

Aurora doesn't know exactly what that hug was for, but I do. She will find out when reading these lines.

The day was cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon, with a temperature between 20º and 25º.
