Today they had to travel another 400 kilometers to reach San FranciscoIn our coast-to-coast road trip through the United States. We toured them in the morning on a pleasant and interesting journey.

We ate at a curious restaurant, from a chain that we had not visited yet, which is called Ono Hawaiian BBQ. The food as usual, fast food, but acceptable.

A San Francisco It can be accessed in three places: if you arrive from the east, as was our case, through the Bay Bridge suspension bridge, which crosses the island of Yerba Buena; by road without a bridge if you access from the south coast; and finally, for the most famous Golden Gate Suspension Bridge if you come from the north.

The entrance to San Francisco has Bay Bridge toll (not the exit through this bridge, since it is assumed that the entry toll already includes the exit) and toll at the San Francisco exit through the Golden Gate (not the entrance for the same reason, we assume).

Our first impression of San Francisco It was double: beautiful and cold.

Apparently, in this beautiful city there is a microclimate which is why the temperature is several degrees lower than nearby towns, in addition to concentrating a lot of fog in specific areas, such as the Golden Gate.

We head to the hotel following the instructions on our GPS Maggie, and after a few more turns than necessary, we arrived at it.

The hotel was located relatively centrally and was also managed by Hindus who, in this case, worked in slow motion.

After 45 minutes waiting in line to check in at the reception, we took possession of our rooms.

The hotel was surprisingly cheap for San Francisco, taking into account its central location and that it had its own parking (which is paid separately at the reception).

Already in the hotel we began to notice a certain gay atmosphere, one of the characteristics of the city of San Francisco.

After finding out how to get around the city, we took a tram (very old, like most) that took us to the pier in the bay, as the song says (The dock on the bay).

We walked along the long promenade that runs along the bay, entering and leaving all the places, markets, shops, and even the docks that were in front of us.

At San Francisco Pier We saw ships, huge ocean liners, boats/buses that took people to nearby towns like Sausalito; we also saw the Bay bridge from below, huge, very American. It was a very pleasant long walk.

We visited also the famous Pier 39 pier, In the Fisherman's Wharf leisure area, where we finally decided to stay for dinner.

It was a restaurant specializing in fish, Pier Market – Seefood Restaurant & Market, with views of the port and the famous sea lions that are concentrated at Pier 39.

We were pleasantly surprised by the way they solved the problem of queues, because there was a queue to enter the restaurant, which must have been a daily occurrence.

When requesting a reservation for a table, which is requested outside the premises, we were given a flat, square-shaped electronic device, about 10cm x 10cm, with a flashing blue light indicating that it was connected.

With this device we could continue our walk through the area until a multitude of little blue lights began to turn on and off, which meant that we already had the table ready.

You went back to the restaurant, returned the gadget, and went to eat.

We thought it was a great way to avoid having to queue, standing, astonished.

Logically, it is assumed that people are serious and do not run away with said device which, on the other hand, should not be useful for anything else.

We had shrimp and fish for dinner, accompanied by beer and wine!! Everything very correct. Great evening.

We walked back to the hotel.

A long walk, with its exhausting climbs through the steep streets of San Francisco, followed with their corresponding drops.

We were able to continue feeling the sensations generated by this great city, the origin of movements such as the hippies, a cosmopolitan, modern, open city, the world center of the gay world and also a great melting pot of customs, races and languages, sharing a space quite harmoniously.

Upon arriving at the hotel we booked a tour of the city in a car for the next day. Sightseeing Tour by double-decker bus.
