Chronicle of the route through Texas, from Dallas to Amarillo, on the coast-to-coast trip through the United States and Canada

Today's day in our Coast to coast trip through the United States It has been essentially road.

We travel from Dallas to the Travelodge motel in Yellow. Have been 583 kilometers tours of the state of Texas On a very calm day, a road day.

On the way we stopped at a rest area, where they warned us that we should be careful with the rattlesnakes (Rattlesnakes).

The landscape is already beginning to be very flat, as we will find during the rest of our trip through Texas, as well as in New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.

Great roads, very straight, with good temperatures and clear, hot days. Fantastic for traveling.

We ate in a McDonalds, for the first and last time on our entire journey.

It is something that we consider at least notable…

Halfway there we deviate from the route to take a walk through the town of Wichita Falls.

And around 16 p.m. we arrived at Yellow and we decided to stay at the motel to rest, to prepare for the upcoming days via the Internet and to contact family and friends.

Throughout the tour through Texas you see many flags of the state of Texas, unlike many other states, where the American flag clearly predominates.

In Texas both brands are on par.

Yellow It is located in northwest Texas, near New Mexico.

The city has around 200,000 inhabitants, and received its name from the yellow color of the banks of the nearby Yellow Lake.

Livestock market center in the late 19th century, large ranches spread throughout the Amarillo area.

The city of Amarillo was once the self-proclaimed Helium Capital of the World for being the center of one of the most productive regions of helium.

The city was also called as the Texas Yellow Rose.

Some of the most notable tourist attractions are the C and Great Texas Steak Ranch (specializing in 2 kilo steaks, which are free if you consume them in less than an hour), which are located in the famous Ruta 66, which runs through the city.

Likewise, near the city is also the Palo Duro Canyon, a natural park that we will visit the next day.
