What a hiking trip is like in Monument Valley

After first visit to Monument Valley, where we could enjoy the beautiful sunset in these impressive landscapes, our plan was to return the next day to an excursion inside this park Navajo Nation.

Thus, after having a luxurious breakfast at the restaurant Holiday Inn, where we were staying, and after loading the car with the suitcases, we headed back to the Monument Valley.

As we approached this place for the second time, we stopped to take photos in the distance, and then closer.

The feeling that our visit left us yesterday was so fantastic that on this second day we were especially excited to return; We felt like a very special magnet.

After parking the car, we returned to admire and photograph the view of the bullion tables natural.

Like the day before, in our conversation with the Navajo Indians (without them looking me in the eye) we did not reach any agreement on a possible guided tour to take today.

The reason: they asked us for a lot of money.

Therefore, we decided to do a little trekking and follow a path called Wildcat Trail.

Blessed was the hour when the excursion seemed expensive to us! Payment that the local guides proposed to us!!

Our tour was really beautiful, very difficult to explain in words.

All the stars aligned in our favor. Namely: sunny day, warmth, very blue sky, reddish earth, enveloping atmosphere, free smells, transparent and clear atmosphere, living flora,...

In short, a great walk along the paths around the monoliths or stone gods.

We were able to admire, with dozens of photos as well, those bullion tables natural from very close and realize, even more, their immensity, and the peace and harmony they transmit.

At the end of the almost four-hour tour, we returned again to the viewpoint of the Visitors Center, where we once again enjoyed the impressive panoramic landscapes of Monument Valley.

We were also able to see the traditional mud houses of the Navajo Indians, and we could see how they were built. On our way back to the car, we could see a Navajo couple dancing their typical dances. Interesting.

After leaving the Monument Valley, and before resuming our next leg of the coast-to-coast trip through the United States, We drove around the park, where we saw new landscapes with the characteristic reddish lands that have served as the setting for movies.

These lands are now shared with the residential centers of the Navajo, who live widely spread across the plain, in small houses or caravans.
