Find out what our experience was like visiting Ottawa during the coast-to-coast road trip through the United States and Canada

In our route through eastern canada, in the coast to coast trip, It's today visit Ottawa.

After leaving the hotel, we headed to the other side of the river along the Alexandra Bridge.

While we try to find how to get to the bridge, we pass through a green, clear area, next to which many embassies are concentrated in privileged places, especially those of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

Through the bridge we reach the province of quebec, already a French area, and which is actually an island: the hull island.

This is the experience of a walk through Ottawa

We head to Canadian Museum of Civilization, which is located in a very well-kept park next to the Ottawa River, with fantastic views of the city center and the large building of the Parliament of Canada  just in front.

We were thinking of entering the museum, whose theme and contents we got an idea of by reviewing the exhibition at the entrance, but in the end we decided not to visit it because we thought that due to the somewhat high price of the ticket it might not be worth it.

In exchange, we spent a long time walking through the different areas of the gardens that surround it, where we saw a sculpture exhibition quite original stuck in the grass.

We were also able to visit a square located above a restaurant of a certain quality that at that time, at the time, was closed.

To highlight the group of flags of all the Canadian provinces that were flying, next to which there was a  where the main characteristics of each province were explained.

In this regard, I remind you that in Canada There are 10 provinces and three territories.

The truth is that the exterior design of the Canadian museum is truly original.

There is also a nice zen garden, along which we took a long walk enjoying the views of the bridges that cross the river, and seeing the panoramic view of the center on the other bank downtown for the city of ottawa.

On our walk we were also able to see the monument to Maurice Richard, who had been a legendary Canadian ice hockey player, who died in 2000 at the age of 79.

It is a huge statue that shows this player on a large scale, I would say three times the normal size, on his skates and his USB stick in a typical posture of this sport.

Several well-kept colorful flower beds, with an eye-catching contrast of colors, adorn the gardens.

In another place in the park the story of some flagpoles with all the flags of all the Canadian provinces and territories was repeated.

Many ducks were walking in groups on the grass near the river. In short, an almost idyllic atmosphere.

Returning to the car, we entered further into the residential part of the area, where there were several churches of various Christian faiths, a religious school, a restaurant and, above all, beautiful wooden houses, each one with its own colors and characteristics. different shapes, which seemed very original to us.

We crossed the bridge again back to the province of Ontario, and we were able to see some monuments dedicated to Canadian soldiers who fell in the various wars. We also saw the building from the outside. National Gallery Museum.

In this way we ended this quick visit to Ottawa and decided to head to Montreal on Highway 148.

En route, all through the province of Quebec, we passed through really beautiful towns, such as Thurso, Plaisance, Papineauville, Montebello, Grenville, Hawkesbury, all on the banks of rivers and small small lakes.

As it was Saturday, there was quite a lot of excitement in the streets of these towns. We have seen small churches, well-organized cemeteries, groups of people with their canoes, others with their bikes, quite a few people walking and hiking.

We were able to verify that Canadians, in general, are quite athletic, that the infrastructures are very well equipped for their practice, and people use them.
