After leaving the placid city of Vancouver, today is a road day, that is, a day to enjoy making the journey during a new stage of our journey. road trip through the United States and Canada.

On the way inland, on the way to Calgary, in the neighboring state of Alberta (Western Canada), we have stopped at the Shuswap Lake, in the Okanagan region of south-central British Columbia.

It is a huge lake (one of the many that nature has given to this continent), capricious in its shape, surrounded by endless almost uninhabited forests, and a tourist attraction for its beaches, its ports and marinas and its blue skies in this time of the year.

We have eaten in the tourist town of Salmon's Arm, next to the lake in a beautiful pub-type bar specialized in good food with local foods and several types of beer that they brewed themselves, with lots of body and flavor.

The best things to see in Enderby

After eating we headed to the small town of Enderby, where our motel was. It was quite hot.

We settle into the room. The hotel had a built-in pub, with its food and its atmosphere, not only for hotel guests, but also for people from the town.

We spent the entire afternoon until dusk taking a long walk through this small but complete town, through which the Shuswap River, which has a channel about 100 meters wide, with a lot of flow and the water flowing calmly.

We were able to see some girls of about 14 years old jumping into the river from a highway bridge, at a height of about eight meters from the water.

We also saw quite a few people sunbathing on the banks of the river or on the surrounding grass, more people bathing, others letting themselves be carried by the slight current on mats.

A very summer atmosphere.

There was also a group of five or six fishermen, surrounded by many onlookers.

We continued walking along the path bordering the river, sitting down from time to time.

We have also seen houses of all sizes and appearances: from wooden houses, to caravans where families lived, to a campsite, etc.

We also crossed some train tracks no longer used, already dead, that should have led somewhere and now only serve to mark the wrong path.

We saw a sign that caught our attention.

He said "Attention, deaf children playing".

The Enderby surroundings, as is usual in this area (but I can guarantee you that it does not get tiring), they were populated with large forests, lakes, rivers, mountains, immensity, grandeur, nature at its peak and man enjoying this privileged environment and very little inhabited.

Back to the motel, to connect with the world and have dinner. Before we had a couple of beers in the pub.

Someone at the hotel told us that one of those fishermen on the bridge had caught a big river salmon. Congratulations!!

Bright sun all day, clear, blue, clean day.
