What is it like and doing a Safari in Kruger Park (South Africa)

Without a doubt, one of the great traveling experiences you can have in your life is to take a safari in africa.

I recently had that opportunity during the trip to south africa, country where the Kruger Park, one of the best natural areas where to go on safari, with almost 19.000 square kilometers of protected surface.

Currently. Going on safari is synonymous with taking photos of animals, and the Kruger Park It is an ideal place where you will find up to 147 protected species of mammals, among its great fauna.

El safari in kruger park It means getting up early to take advantage of dawn, the time of day when the animals are visible; and then, when evening falls, go out again to continue searching…and photographing animals.

On my journey Africa Adventure I did the safari in reserve of Sabi Sands, a private area where you can stay in a lodge, which in my case was called Cheetah Plains.

La two-day experience in Kruger Park, with the possibility of doing four safaris, is indescribable.

During it I was able to live great experiences, such as feeling the aggressiveness of an elephant protecting its calf, which also became “cool” in front of our vehicle.

Or leaving the camp early in the morning and finding a leopard at the same door. Or during your route along the park's paths, suddenly finding a pair of restless rhinos in the middle of the road.

During two full days of stay in the lodge You will go out at dawn to do the first safari, when the sun has not yet risen, so you will have to get up early to have the opportunity to see the animals in their first morning activities.

Before, during the night, it is possible to feel the very “presence” of the animals, from an elephant that prowls the camp protected by electric fences, or large mammals that walk during the night between the huts where you are sleeping.

After a few hours of exploring the jungle looking for and photographing animals, you will return to the lodge where you can rest throughout the day and, at sunset, make the second safari outing, which will last until nightfall.

The great advantage of doing the safari in a private reserve as Sabi Sands is that you have a great chance of seeing, among its great fauna, those known as the Big five, that is, the lion, the elephant, the African buffalo, the leopard and the rhinoceros.

And we were fortunate to see them because it is not always possible.

This is undoubtedly due in large part to the great expertise of the guides who accompany you, who with their great experience know where to look for the animals at every moment of the day.

You will be seeing some large mammals continuously, as was the case with impalas, elephants or giraffes, but to see others a very specific search was essential, as was the case with lions or cheetahs.
