En Travel Guides We are in luck because we have been awarded the PICOT award 2015 in the category of Best Travel Blog.
Convened in its first edition by the communication agency RV EDIPRESS, the tourist communication awards PICOT 2015 They are a recognition of the professional work of the media in the travel and tourism sector.
The awards ceremony took place at a gala held at the hotel Madrid Marriott Auditorium which was attended by more than 1.200 people related to the tourism sector.
Among them, various authorities, such as the Minister of Tourism of Uruguay, ambassadors, councilors of autonomous communities and general directors of tourism, as well as representatives of international destinations and directors of companies in that sector.
The PICOT They are the most important tourism communication awards so far convened in Spain, and for the granting of the same, more than 1.500 media have been reviewed, from offline and online media, radio and television, general and specialized, and also travel blogs.
Objectivity, independence and transparency are the three pillars applied for the granting of the PICOT awards, as highlighted by Fernando Valmaseda, CEO of RV EDIPRESS.
For his part, PICOT awards jury It was made up of 18 professionals and representatives of entities and companies in the tourism sector.
As I have commented, Travel Guides has been awarded as the Best Travel Blog, with the blogs of colleagues and friends being finalists Pachinko y Sele's Corner.
During the award ceremony I wanted to highlight that I consider it to be a recognition of the professional aspect that travel blogs can also have.
In fact, they have become a very relevant means of communication in the travel and tourism sector, side by side with traditional media.
Likewise, I highlighted the support that this award represents for the project Travel Inspirers which groups together eight travel blogs that we have been working on this professional aspect.
Nowadays it has become the travel information group with the largest audience in Spain, with cumulative metrics of more than 1.200.000 unique users (Google Analytics August 2015), 410.000 followers on Facebook and 147.000 followers on Twitter.
