But now in the capital you can also see other girls in the urban exhibition known as Meninas Madrid Gallery.
This outdoor displays allows you to see artistic figures in the streets and squares of the capital that represent the iconic image of a Menina by Velázquez.
In its eighth edition, in different locations throughout the city you can see original artistic representations, 1,80 m tall, of the famous Girls, in a solidarity initiative sponsored by various companies and artists.
The creator of the project is Antonio Azzato, a Venezuelan artist of Italian-Spanish origin, who has lived in different countries and has developed very different projects.
Thus, with his role as an interior designer, he has designed interiors for homes or restaurants, but he has also carried out various artistic projects, such as the aforementioned temporary art gallery that takes place in Madrid, the city where he currently resides.

What is Meninas Madrid Gallery 2025 like?
As in previous editions, various national and international personalities participate in the design of these figures, from athletes and artists, to chefs and musicians.
Specifically, in previous editions you could see solidarity figures designed by artists and famous people such as Ana Obregon, the Chef Jose Andres, Anne Igartiburu, Boris Izaguirre, Diana Navarro, Saul Craviotto, Paulo Coelho, Los Morancos, Pablo Motos, Hombres G, Chenoa or Susanna Griso.

Various personalities and celebrities participate in this year's edition, such as Glory Stefan, those from the River, with a Menina dedicated to the iconic Macarena dance, Paula Echevarría.
Each figure has a QR code that you can scan with your mobile phone, so you can learn about the concept of the work, as well as see the Menina virtually.
Since 2018, the initiative Meninas Madrid Gallery has raised more than half a million euros for the NGOs selected by the sponsoring artists and brands.
Some of the beneficiary NGOs have been Aladina, the Food Bank, Rafael Nadal Foundation, Hand to hand.
In short, it is an initiative that turns the streets of the city of Madrid into a Outdoor museum and a tourist attraction, with the figures of the Meninas as protagonists with their great color and artistic creativity.
