It was in the 80s, on the occasion of the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the city of Berlin, when the old San Nicolás neighborhood.

In fact, the entire neighborhood was built based on the architectural style of the only house still standing.

In this reconstructed neighborhood you can see the Church of San Nicolás (Nikolaikirche), which is the oldest temple in Berlin, which was originally built in Romanesque style in the year 1230.

Another highlight of the San Nicolás neighborhood It is the pleasant square that opens on the banks of the Spree river, whose center is presided over by an enormous equestrian statue of Saint George.

If you walk along the river bank towards Alexanderplatz, you will see the most significant building in the neighborhood, known as Kurfürstenhaus, or the House of the Elector.

In reality it is relatively recent, as it was built in 1896, but it shows us a striking red façade of neo-renaissance style.
