With a population of around 14.000 inhabitants, it really Malibú It extends in a line of 43 kilometers along the Pacific coast.
Famous for its climate and sandy beaches, several media stars reside in this area and large companies in the California entertainment business have their headquarters.
The standard of living in Malibú is high, and the rental price of the houses, which are usually made of wood, is high. Since most of Malibu is residential, you find few banks and shopping centers.
On our visit to this famous town in the west coast of united states, We covered almost the entire Malibu coastal area, round trip. As it coincides with a Sunday on a good summer day, there is a lot of traffic on the road.
During the tour, you can see many (but many…) luxury cars. You also see quite a few restaurants of unequivocal high standard, with a lot of fish on the menu.
Finally we found a space to park the car to eat. The restaurant was called Goggies, and it was a few meters from the Malibu beach. We had to wait a bit in line, but we ate quite well.
As a curiosity, we spent a while talking with a firefighter who was with his fire truck, with its striking red color and all its equipment, hoses, etc...
It is a vehicle that has especially attracted Miquel since his childhood. Finally we got Miquel, the fire man, could get on the truck, and we took several photos in which he cannot hide his great satisfaction. Dream achieved!
En Malibú We also visited a baseball field where a team was entering. The setting was fantastic, as the course was located next to a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Malibu Beach
We decided to go for a walk on the beach, in an area of characteristics wooden houses, all beautiful, all different, located on the same sea line.
It was difficult, but we finally managed to leave the car near an access passage to the beach.
The houses follow one another, one next to the other, along the entire coast, and although I think the beach is public, it is not easy to access, so it is as if it were an almost private beach.
It has been a great sunny day, with good temperature, good atmosphere and enjoying good company.
We returned to the hotel, sharing the traffic jam that Angelenos suffer returning from the beaches. From the highways we can see the downtown from some neighborhood Los Angeles, quite spectacular.
We arrived at the hotel at a decent hour, with enough time to go to the supermarket, buy dinner and beers, and end the day by having dinner in Miquel and Dolors' room.
