My particular Olympus in this world is a paradisiacal strip of about 15 kilometers long that goes from Puerto Viejo a Manzanillo in the Southern Caribbean of Costa Rica. You are immersed in the global paradise that is Costa Rica.
It is a beautiful, paradisiacal place, very close to heaven and at the same time very close to earth.
It is a place, I would say sensitive, beautiful, harmonious, feminine, with a sublime energy and with colors, smells and flavors that make you feel your senses.
I am referring to a very specific area, located in Costa Rica, in the southern part of the Caribbean, and which runs from the town of Puerto Viejo until Gandoca–Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge.
There are 15 kilometers, only 15 kilometers, that link the towns of Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo, which make up a dream route, like an unattainable utopia. There are 15 kilometers that pass in an indescribable environment, with the Caribbean Sea to one side and Talamanca mountain range with its tropical forest on the other.
Different human ethnicities live in this paradise, creating an attractive mix of their cultures that share wonderful beaches with the incredible beauty of their surroundings. They are truly like a movie, with the right people, surrounded by tropical forests, rivers, enchanted waterfalls and abundant and varied wildlife.
All of this in the Caribbean, between the untamed and evergreen and thick Talamanca mountain range, the infinite jungles that surround it and the magical blue of the Caribbean Sea. All in 15 kilometers.
Between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo you find a perfect area for nature lovers, action sports, sun, sea and beach, surf, fishing or seeing corals.
It is also ideal if you are a lover of good food and nightlife social life. And, above all, if you seek to be close to beauty, close to yourself, close to integration with the environment. Its blue horizons and its radiant greens will remain in your retina forever, the incessant sound of the jungle will echo in your memory.
In this coastal area of Costa Rica You will not find large hotel chains, golf courses, or marinas. Everything is nature, good people, harmony. Everything at human size, integrated with the environment.
La local people are friendly, helpful, not obsequious, and pleasant. Perhaps it is the area of Costa Rica where the traditional greeting of Pure Life makes more sense. It is the purest life.
Many Westerners have already moved to live in this area, in the middle of nature, where the temperature is permanently between 25 and 30 degrees. Here you are imbued with peace, inner harmony, green and blue that calm your soul.
There are palm trees, dreadlocks, reggae, good food, coconut trees, formidable atmosphere, jungle, movie locations, sloths, monkeys, toucans, morphos butterflies,… and above all, formidable people…
It's something like the secret paradise waiting to be discovered.
